May 29, 2014. Master Mechanic, Rodney Nadeau, a specialty sheet metal fabricator with Chuck's Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc., holds up the stainless steel wash basin that he prototyped for the Alumni Association. A former cub scout, boy scout and adult den leader himself, Rodney built this basin using the dimensions of one of the unserviceable galvanized wash stands from Mt. Norris Scout Reservation.

Ready on the firing line! Alumni members Phil Gamsby and Randy Vance and Randy's son Isaac proved their mettle during the Alumni Association's 2014 spring work day, June 7th. Digging post holes by hand, standing new pressure treated 4x4s, fastening new rails and bracing, they completely rebuilt the rifle range target fence. The new fence is now marksman-like  straight and on target. In their spare time, they meticulously leveled each shooting bench to compensate for the shifting of the concrete slab under the rifle range shelter. Great work!

May 14, 2014. The new storage shed for the Archery Range is taking shape. It is a ten foot by 8 foot building. Decked with three-quarter inch Advantec over pressure treated 2 x 6 floor joists sitting on two pressure treated 12-foot 6 x 6's making it "skid-able". The walls are of 2 x 4 studs and 6'-4.5" tall including plates. The roof pitch is roughly 6:12 and will be sheathed with OSB. Underlayment and roofing steel will go on top of that. The door is three feet wide and six feet three inches tall. Don't worry, there will still be work left to do on it come June 7th.

September 20, 2014. The Association's Board of Directors has settled on an alumni T-shirt that can be purchased by participants at spring and fall work weekends. The logo on the front is "On my honor, I will do my best". The back of the T-shirt has the alumni association patch. They are screened locally by Cutting Edge T-Shirts of Hyde Park, VT. To avoid tying up association funds in inventory, we will have these T-shirts on display at the October 18th work weekend and will take orders. Not shown in the picture, but also available will be long sleeve Ts. Pricing will depend on sizes and quantities, but will range between $10 and $15 each.
